Come with us: To the beautiful blue Danube! A musical and literary journey along the river that connects. The Danube not only forms borders, it has also acted as a cross-border ambassador, holding cultural landscapes together. What connects the Danube with Lake Constance? The legendary Danube-Lake Constance cycle path, which leads from Ulm on the Danube down to the shores of Lake Constance. Who doesn’t know the legendary “Danube Waltz”? It is one of the most popular works of classical music, is often referred to as the “world’s first pop song”, is unofficially regarded as the second Austrian national anthem and is always the highlight of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra’s New Year’s Concert. With Steinway Artist Maximilian Schairer, we celebrate the 200th birthday of the “Waltz King” Johann Strauss (son) in 2025 with virtuoso piano transcriptions by Franz Schubert/Franz Liszt, Johann Strauss son/Alfred Grünfeld and Johann Strauss son/Adolf Schulz-Evler.
