This quote from Sigmund Freud (1856-1939), a key figure in the world of psychology and philosophy, sheds light on the complexity of love. It should remind us to take care of ourselves and our partner in relationships. Because we are never as vulnerable as when we love. Love manifests itself in many different ways: profound, insightful, dreamlike, happiness-filled, considerate, connected, emotional, sorrowful, painful.
The composers Beethoven, Schubert, Chopin, Liszt and Schumann expressed their experiences, feelings and thoughts, their unfulfilled longings and their pain of separation in fantastic and touching melodies with which they open up fundamental aspects of human existence.

In his program LIEBESFREUD & LIEBESLEID, Stuttgart Steinway Artist Maximilian Schairer will perform some of the most beautiful known and lesser-known works of the piano literature, ranging from confessional and intimate character to flaming passion and everlasting melodies.
