COVID-19 brought our financial planning to a standstill - our concerts had to be cancelled. As artists stand we are facing a special situation and challenge. Therefore we start the crowdfunding action on STARTNEXT, whose "funding target" we want and have to achieve by 22 November 2020 (all-or-nothing principle).

During the 2014/15 season he won 1. prizes including numerous special prizes in AT, DE, FR, GR, US, e.g. first prize and Gold medal at Debut International Competition, first prize and “Schubert” Special prize at the International Rosario-Marciano Piano Competition in Vienna and at the International Music Competition Grand Prize in Paris, which the Commitee created after the Prize Winner Concert specially for his outstanding performance a special price "Young Star-Grand Prize Virtuoso". He is a scholarship holder of the German Foundation of Musical Life, In 2020 he received the ZEIT-Foundation Ebelin and Gerd Bucerius in cooperation with the Carl-Heinz Illies Fond-scholarship, DAAD, German Scholarship of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research and the Hans and Eugenia Jütting Foundation, as well as the Baden-Württemberg Foundation and Eva Mayr-Stihl Foundation in cooperation with SWR.

Back in 2011, critics wrote: »One should remember already today the name Maximilian Schairer«. He considered to the most interesting musician of his generation. He inspires press, professors and the general public alike with his natural manner and magical-exciting interpretations elaborated into the finest nuances and a sensitive colourful sense for sound and is distinguished by a profound knowledge of the work. His repertoire extends from baroque to the 21st century. He places one focus in the works of Beethoven and Bach.

He performans in prestigious concert halls in Europe, Indonesia and USA. He has also appeared at renowned festivals such as ATTACA for Contemporary Music, Braunschweig Classix, Festival International de Musique Dinard, MUSIKFESTUTTGART, Ludwigsburger Schlossfestspiele, LUCERNE FESTIVAL, Salzburger Festspiele, US International Romantic Festival. Furthermore he performed for the 60th “diamond jubilee” of Queen Elizabeth II, in the presence of German Federal President Gauck and gave his orchestra debut when just 12 years old with the renowned Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra. Another Highlight: his US Carnegie Hall-Debut 2014, where he performed again in 2015. In 2017 he impressed by his Song Hall-orchestra-debut with Beethovens Piano Concerto in the Beethoven Hall together with the CSO and also successful in Mozarts Piano Concerto with the JSPE at the Esslinger Masterconcerts from the sks-Russ-Concertdirektion. In 2018 he played with the Chamber Orchestra arcata and opened Stuttgart's young classical festival ZUKUNFTSKLANG. In October 2019 he played with the Stuttgarter Philharmonic the solo part of his short-term engagement for the injured General Music Director and chief conductor Dan Ettinger in Haydn's Piano Concerto in D major with heart, multi-faceted wit, great tonal and personality color. Critics wrote about this coincidence: "It's a pleasure ... Dan Ettinger and the young Schairer are an explosive combination ... both together exceed all expectations." Based of many years studies of Beethoven works, he was also obligated in the "Beethoven Year 2020" to play some of the major and beautiful Beethoven piano concertos. In 2020, together with the conductor and composer Pedro Halffter Caro, he took over the patronage for the concert grand piano project of the Schule Schloss Salem International College.

He gives lecture concerts, concert moderations, wrote a premiere study, which was rated by the Int. Bachakademie, located at University Library Mozarteum Salzburg, dedicated to Historic Keyboard Instruments and is the initiator and Head of Stuttgart's young festival ZUKUNFTSKLANG. He began his studies piano, historical keyboard instruments and chamber music in Stuttgart, as well as in Leipzig and Munich. He is currently continuing his studies with Michael Hauber at HMDK Stuttgart.

His interpretations are described by renowned artists and the critics as »with sensibility and a sense for sound, coupled with technical ability and an extraordinary artistic maturity«. Maximilian Schairer is considered one of the most interesting musician of his generation and inspires press, professors and the general public alike with his natural manner, with magical-exciting interpretations elaborated into the finest nuances and a sensitive colourful sense for sound. He is distinguished by a profound knowledge of the work. His repertoire ranges from baroque to the 21th century. He places one focus in the works of Ludwig van Beethoven, Johann Sebastian Bach as well as in the preservation of the historic music tradition with Tradition & Zeitgeist.

He found his musical role models and goals very early on being deeply influenced by his participation in many events, lecture concerts, and courses at the International Bach Academy. As well as playing piano, he is also interested in the organ, historical keyboard instruments, conducting and the complete works of Johann Sebastian Bach. Social engagement at charity concerts and events is a great importance for him, for example with joint concert afternoons for the handicapped and able-bodied in the Amseltheater in Stuttgart, Germany or fort the Doctorship „Ksatria Airlangga“ (Satu-Hati) in Indonesia. He also completed a community internship at the Arbeitsgemeinschaft Dritte Welt e.V., an organisation for the third world-refugee counselling, migration services, and projects for preschool for parents and children.

As the youngest participant so far in the history of the renowned International masterclasses of the Bach Archives in Leipzig for the performance practice of the works of Johann Sebastian Bach, he has received since 2009 repeated active attendance authorization that allowed him an early study of Bach. He was awarded the special prize of the Bavarian Broadcasting Service, which recorded his interpretation of the French Suite VI BWV 817 and transmitted them on BR Classics radio station.

Maximilian Schairer won first prizes with special prizes in several renowned national and international competitions, e.g. he won the first prize in the competition »Career enhancement for young musicians« of the International Braunschweig Classix Festival under the Jury Deutschen Grammophon and NDR. In the season 2014/15 he was awarded with more first and special prizes. At the 51st federal competition he achieved the first prize with the highest score in all three rounds as well as the soloist special prize of the German foundation for Musical life for outstanding performance. Furthermore, he was awarded the music promotion prize 2014 donated by German savingbank and the scholarship by the Baden-Württemberg Arts Foundation. The International Association of Art Greece awarded him the first prize in the category piano, also the International Music Competition Grand Prize Virtuoso Paris, which the Commitee created after the Prize Winner Concert specially for the outstanding performance of Maximilian Schairer a special price "Young Star-Grand Prize Virtuoso". His US debut began successfully with 1st prize at the International Romantic Festival 2014 as well as the 1st prize and Gold medal at the Debut International Piano Competition 2015. At the International Rosario-Marciano-Piano Competition Vienna 2015 he won the first prize and the Schubert-Specialprize. In 2015 the German Foundation of Musical Life awarded him the Carl-Heinz Illies-scholarship.

He won the 2nd prize in the European Music Competition in Slovakia as the youngest and first German participant to date. As one of the youngest participant since 1950, Maximilian Schairer was admitted taking part in the renowned XIX. International Johann-Sebastian-Bach-Competition Leipzig. He was not able to take part due to an injury shortly before the 1st round.

2012/13 he wrote a 50 page study »The melodic life in baroque Germany - Johann Sebastian Bach‘s “well-tempered clavier“ and his interaction with 18th Century society«. This was rated by the International Bach Academy as well as the State University of Music and the Performing Arts Stuttgart (DE) and is located at University Library Mozarteum Salzburg (AT).

In 2015 he is chosen from Steinway & Sons for the selected circle of "Young Steinway Artists" and from US Golden Key Music Festival as "Golden Key Artist". As the youngest participant in the history of the renowned masterclass for »Performance Practice of the works of JS Bach« received Maximilian Schairer in 2009 a personal invitation from the Bach Archives in Leipzig. Since then he has extended his musical knowledge by regular participation in numerous masterclasses in Germany and abroad under the Bach expert and Mozart researcher, Robert Levin. Maximilian Schairer caught Robert Levin's attention by his unique natural feeling, his "il gusto" and his comprehensive insight into baroque performance techniques. He was invited in more special invitations by the Bruckner University Linz (AT) to the masterclass »Historical performance practice« 2012, by the Goethe-Institute Boston (US) to the »Masterclass Bach« 2013, by the Emil-Gilels-Foundation (DE) to the Festival-Masterclasses 2014, by the LUCERNE FESTIVAL (CH) in their Festival-Academy 2014 and 2015. From 2010-2018 he studied also at the International Summer Academy Mozarteum Salzburg (AT). In 2015 he participated also in the VIP-Academy Vienna (AT), 2016 in the Int. Mendelssohn Academy Leipzig (DE).

As well as piano, Maximilian Schairer studies historical keyboard instruments and historically informed performance. In studies, masterclasses, workshops he have been worked with Bernard d'Ascoli, Dmitri Bashkirov, Menno van Delft, Christopher Elton, Gerald Fauth, Julia Fischer, Viera Fischer, Romuald Noll, Monika Giurgiuman, Jörg Halubek, Robert Levin, John Perry, Matti Raekallio, András Schiff, Christine Schornsheim, Florian Wiek. Because of his holistic musical thinking he completed an internship in 2012 in the piano workshop of Steinway Gallery Matthaes GmbH.

He is now continuing his studies with Michael Hauber at HMDK Stuttgart. He is also influenced with artistic impulses by Ya-Fei Chuang, Christopher Elton, Martin Helmchen, Murray Perahia.

Engagements enabled him to perform until now more about 200 concert performances at home and abroad. In 2016 he celebrates »10th stage anniversary«. Maximilian Schairer is a welcome guest at the Musical Summer Festival hosted by the Southern German Chamber Symphony and has concertized at renowned festivals e.g. ATTACCA Festival for Contemporary music, Braunschweig Classix Festival, Festival International de Musique Dinard, MUSIKFESTUTTGART, Ludwigsburger Schlossfestspiele, LUCERNE FESTIVAL, Salzburg Festival, US International Romantic Festival. He has been giving solo recitals since 2010 and gave his orchestra debut when just 12 years old with the A major concerto BWV 1055 from Johann Sebastian Bach together with the Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra.

Further invitations to orchestral concerts included e.g. with Johann Sebastian Bachs c minor concerto for two harpsichords BWV 1060 he performed at the Stuttgart Organ Academy, the Southern Germany Champer Symphony.

In the season 2017, he gave his Song Hall-orchestra-debut with Beethovens Piano Concerto in the Beethoven Hall together with the CSO and also successful with Mozarts Piano Concerto and the JSPE at the Esslinger Meisterkonzerte from thee sks-Russ-Konzertdirektion. In 2018 he played with the Chamber Orchestra arcata and opened Stuttgart's new classical festival ZUKUNFTSKLANG. In the Season 2019 he received a cultural scholarship for an Indonesia Tour and won 1. prize at the International Music Competition Grand Prize in Vienna. In May 2019 he celebrated his orchestra debut with the Stuttgart Philharmonic and Jan Willem de Vriend each in nearly sold-out Theater Ansbach and in the Beethoven Hall of the KKL Liederhalle.

He is regularly invited by politicians and business entrepreneurs to provide the musical framework of charity concerts and events, for instance the Theodor Heuss-prize-awards (in the presence of Federal President Joachim Gauck), the Hans-Peter-Stihl-prize-award, for entertainer Harald Schmidt, climber Reinhold Messner, actress Katharina Thalbach, maestro of taste Jörg Mink and for the 60th jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II. His pronounced interest in musicology means that he has been arranging lecture concerts since 2012. He is currently continuing his studies with Michael Hauber.

His concert activities have taken him until now to Europe, Indonesia and USA.

He gave concerts in renowned Concerthouses like Carnegie Hall New York (US), Opéra National Bastille (FR), "Vienna Hall" Salzburg (AT), „Solitär“ Mozarteum Salzburg (AT), Ehrbar Hall Vienna (AT), Toni-Areal Zürich (CH), Philharmonie Košice (SK), City Hall Brunswick (AT), Gasteig Munich (DE), Wilhelma-Theatre Stuttgart (DE), Theatre House Stuttgart (DE), Song Hall Stuttgart (DE).
